RØRE, 2016

wax, glitter, found objects

From August to December 2016, I lived and worked in an arts community made up of American students studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. We collaborated on a final exhibition of works in varying media meant to capture more permanently the transient feelings we experienced during that time. Each group was inspired by the prior, creating a chain of influence among the community. Our group, inspired by a video conveying motion and sound, created a work that intended to convey experienced of touch that we felt were universal to our group, and to visitors who would be viewing the work. We chose to display our work on a window-sill, in order to emphasize the commonality and simplicity of these everyday experiences. The exhibition won an award for Best Collaborative Work at the LLC Fall 2016 Showcase Event.
